ROMAN BATHS
a step back into Roman times

During the 1970s, some excavations in the area of Viale Lecco brought some remains of Roman baths to light.

More recents work, for the construction of a multi level parking, led to the discovery of more ruins and even some fragments of frescoes.

The remains of Roman baths date back to the 1st-2nd centuries, when the city of Como was under the Roman empire. The archeological site opens to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, thanks to the volunteers of TCI (Touring Club Italiano).

However, you can always see the archaeolological ruins from the ground floor, which lies beneath the new parking garage.
