Como-Brunate-Torno: breathtaking scenery

A hike loved by locals of all ages; an itinerary that allows you to discover breathtaking landscapes, mysterious boulders, and pendulous stones, and a village with an ancient heart, walking and experiencing also a funicular and a boat. Let’s meet at the funicular station to get this typical cable train to Brunate, the beautiful balcony over Como.

We have some trivia to tell you about Como and the surrounding mountains, which can be understood and appreciated only from here. Then, by walking among mountain landscapes and forests, we will cross the Mountains of Blevio, Sorto, and Cazzannoro and we will arrive at Monte Piatto.

Here, from the church of St. Elisabetta, the view is amazing, and, nearby, you will experience one of the strangest places along the Lake: the so-called Pietra Pendula, a large erratic boulder that seems so precariously leaning on another smaller stone.

We will continue towards the small village of Piazzaga, where we will stop for a typical lunch in an ancient “Crotto”. We will then descend to the picturesque village of Torno, overlooking the lake, and then back to Como by boat.
